T5 Lighting
The new T5 fluorescent tubes are only 16mm diameter and have many advantages in aquarium usage when compared with the more usual 26mm diameter T8 tubes. In the HO version they have a higher light output per unit length than T8 tubes and , if the correct electronic ballasts are used, a higher ratio of light output per watt of energy consumed. This increased efficiency, combined with the new range of phosphurs used to create the colours offered, makes T5 the preferred fluorescent for all modern aquariums.
